Michael Jr. Update

January 13, 2007

I've got some more good news on Michael Jr. He was released from the PICU Saturday and is now on the 4th floor in the ITU (infant/toddler unit) Doctors have removed one of his IV lines. He still has an IV line in his foot, which was one of 5 he had from Wednesday through Friday. Now he simply has the PIC line and the other IV line in his foot. His veins are so shot from so many IV's over his short lifetime that they simply blow out or occlude.

I am going to stay with him today, tonight, and most of tomorrow. Both Mama and his other Grandma have to work. Dad is home with the girls of course. When the babies are in the hospital, us two Grandma's and Mama all take turns staying with them. It's a long haul to say the least, and also very tiring, but I wouldn't be any place else. He may not know how to tell us he knows we are there, but I'm pretty sure he does know in some way. We've come very close to loosing this little guy so many times and each and every time, it feels like the first time! But for now, the road to recovery is on it's way, slow but sure.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.
