About a year ago Chris told his upper management to let him know when a position opened up in the North District (we found out a position did open up up there and he wasn't told because his district doesn't want to lose him. Selfish ***tards, but looking back, it's o.k. because he wasn't ready then and you know that everything happens for a reason). About a month ago Chris' stress cup runneth over. He finally started to put in the time to work on himself from the inside out. He took two weeks off work. After about three weeks he realized we make our happiness and he started applying everywhere up north. He went back to work and told his District Manager what was going on and how unhappy he has been at his store and with this area. He called an ex boss who works up North and told her he wants to come work up there. She told the District Manager up there and as soon as she said it was Chris Lawrence who wants to come up he said "When? I'll take him tomorrow". They got to work on it and he got the go ahead from his District Manager here to put the house on the market and he's got a spot up at the Santa Maria store. It'll be a transfer, so he's keeping his position, pay, vacation, everything. We went up this weekend with the kids and looked at homes. There was one in particular, in Atascadero that we kept coming back to in conversations so we called today and put an offer on it. Pray they accept it!! My fingers and toes are crossed! As for me, ever since I lived up in Cambria I've known I belong there. So I am so happy to get back up there. The Central Coast is an amazing place. It will be 100 times better for the kids. It's so family oriented there. Atascadero schools only allow 20 kids to a class up until 3rd or 4th grade and after that it's 30 to a class. You can pick whichever school you want in the whole district. There are just so many things there that we can't give the kids here. The house we put an offer on is right around the corner from the school. They close the road in front of it during school hours. We thought that was cool. Ally is way excited. She's o.k. with finishing the year up there if it happens that quickly for us. I think everyone knows she's been living with us since last summer. She decided and told us last May or June that she wanted to live with just us. For Chris and I it was out of the blue. Who knows how long she'd been thinking about it. The plan was for her to go to her Mom's every other weekend. That usually happens. Her Mom and Chris talked and he told her what was going on and she said o.k. She asked Ally is she wanted to move up there and Ally told her yes. So with all of that squared away a huge weight was lifted off our chest. The hardest part is we'll be away from our parents and Grandma's and Eric and Lisa and our closest friends. At the same time we know we are making the right decision for us and our kids. We have to opportunity to get our kids out of the Antelope Valley and live in a great community and we are taking it. And hope our families follow!! And Brat & Dez! Lisa's boyfriend Ray works out of Ventura County so we'll be working on them soon! Well I think that's it. Ian is screaming his head off so I need to go get him. His top teeth are coming in and he's not a happy camper. |
