Weekend Time

April 17, 2007

It was great to be gone and away from every day life here in Little Rock. But at the same time it was great coming home too. I really did miss my husband, kids, grand kid and kitties. Everyone was happy to see me too, which made me feel really good.

I 'baby sat' Autumn Thursday, kept her all night and through Friday till about 3. After that we picked up our friend Rich, and drove to Hot Springs. His wife Jeanette, was on her drill weekend for Arkansas National Guard. We had made plans to go to Derby Day at Oaklawn way back in January (hotel and such). It was the final day of horse racing. I don't know that I am a huge fan of horse racing, but it was exciting. We actually broke even on betting, which was a plus!! Jeanette got out of guard duty early Saturday because of thunderstorms and joined us in Hot Springs. It was such a great time. I didn't take any pictures or anything, but it was a good day. We had tables in the Carousel which were 'ours' for the day. They had a super buffet, all the soft drinks, coffee, tea and water you wanted. The 'leaded' drinks were extra of course. I had one rum and coke, small glass -- 4.50!!!! Highway robbery. No more of that. I could have brought my own and should have! Oh well, next year!!

Now it's Sunday. A day to sit back, relax, plan for next week. I have major 'overhaulin' plans for the kitchen!! No rearranging or painting, just major spring cleaning and such. It needs it so bad. Who knows, when I get done, I just might be able to see out the windows.

Robert has been busy lately. He works his 60 week and then on his days off works like crazy to catch up on other stuff. All is well at his place though.

It's really greening up here in Little Rock. At Judie's house the trees and everything are about a month behind, which really did a number on my allergies. I was pretty much over the 'heavy stuff', went to Joplin and wham, right back in it!! Oh well!!
