We've Arrived!

May 1, 2007

Hello Everyone,

Carol and I have gotten to our respective destinations without any serious matters arising. We left home yesterday at 3 A.M. and drove to Olympia, Wash. by last night late. The drive was fine as all three of us drove for a few hours at a time. We had a great time on the way. Somewhere far up North, this way, it began to rain and has not stopped since. It is no small wonder that everything is so green.

This morning we got up early and was on the road again by 5:15 heading for Bellingham. I was concerned that we would get into a lot of traffic in Seattle but that fear was not founded. Time rolled forward for a few hours and we found ourselves in Bellingham, Wash. to drop off Slim, at her girl friends house, for the time I am in Canada. No problems there so Ralph and I continued toward the Canadian border rain and all. We crossed the border however they took the peaches that Ralph had brought from home saying that the peaches were not allowed as peaches are grown in B.C. We also had three large boxes of Grapefruit but that was OK as they do not grow grapefruit in BC.

At last we got to the ferry and crossed over to Vancouver Island [Duke Point] on smooth water. From there it is about a 45 minute drive North to Ralph's house in Bowser. The biggest job has been unloading the van but that is now done .......

Please forgive any spelling errors or words that do not seem to fit. For some reason I can not correct a spelling error, or change a word once it is typed on Ralph's machine. Then the spell checker will not function either so ...... ???????? goofy stuff comes out. [ My laptop will not work with this Internet service as a special program has to be installed and can only be done by the provider to maintain control I guess]

The problem is the Internet provider that is available here .......... Slow, old and highly limited but it does work. I can receive e-mail OK but please do not send any digital pictures as the file space available is too small so I just get the text part anyway.

I think I will be here for 10 days or so-- Ralph has not decided when he wants to go home. I'll keep you up to date on my adventures.........

Love to all,
Frank
