Great Wedding

June 18, 2007

This past Saturday Craig and Tammy had a great wedding and a fine day. The wedding service was really special and the reception here at our place was one fine party. We had about 130 people at the reception and all had a fun time.

We had rented a large 40 x 40 tent and it sat down 160 for dinner, so had plenty of room. Candy and her sisters cooked up a super meal of roast beef (that we bought already cooked and sliced), bow tie pasta salad, cole slaw, baked beans and corn from our garden. All the food was served in a buffet line in our garage that is 30 x 40. Had 2 kegs of beer and plenty of wine. Nobody went home hungry.

Our friend Joy came from Denver on Wed. and made the wedding cake and did all the decorating. She is a world class Aids researcher, but makes wedding cakes as a hobby. Candy had made a 1/2 sheet carrot cake to go along with the wedding cake. Candy sister Nancy brought a Danish groom's cake, a Kransekage (mostly almond flavor) to finish the sweet tooth needs.

The kids rented a DJ and he played from 4p to 11p and was pleasant to listen to. Lots of folks danced all night, including my cousin Patty and her hubby Norm. Candy and her 3 sisters got out there and tried every new dance the younger ones were doing now. The DJ would get out there and show them how to do it.

The party was over a little after 11p and all went home. Candy and I fell face first into bed at midnight.

We really loved having our Swedish boy Martin join us from over the water. We had him in 1991 as a foriegn exchange student and have kept in contact with him all these years. Martin was one of the groomsmen. He flies home this coming Sat. morning. He will go home with Dan, Mugsy and Matthew tomorrow to Denver for a few days of the high life in the big city.

Lots of planning and work by all made for a special day that should last for ever for Craig and Tammy. They leave in 10 days for a week in Jamaica at a resort. Hope to have a picture or 2 to share in a few days.
