Information

From Susie

This really isn't family news, this is some helpful information. I just returned from my doctor appointment. All's well, And this is what my information is based on. I take several medications. Every single visit, one of the questions asked is What medications do you take? dose, time etc. I've printed out a list on the computer listing the medication and dosage amount. On the back of the card is other useful information: who to call in case of emergency,(my husband and son, work and cell numbers listed) any known allergies to food or medications, doctors name and phone number. I am a Type 2 diabetic so I've listed that. I do not take any medication for it and have listed that. Tape these very helpful things to the index card with wide clear package tape. It saves you tons of time, it's readable, and everyone I've shown my card to says it's a great idea. Plus it's easy for the doctor to photo copy, or your dentist. This would also be helpful in case of an accident if you are not able to communicate with the EMT's. I hope this is helpful for you. I also keep my list of medications, the prescription # and date to call in all saved in a document on the computer. If medication doses are changed, one is added or taken away, the list can be updated as needed. Susie
