Our Chamber had our banquet tonight and I am one of the Ambassadors which I've been since I moved here. Tonight I was given the 2007 Ambassador of the Year Award which I also got for 2003. I "work" (volunteer) more at the Chamber than any of the other Ambassadors but I do it because I like it. Here are some pictures you all might enjoy. The spiritual pictures were painted in both the women's and men's restrooms and I just had to take a picture of the ones in the women's restroom. I couldn't get back far enough to get more in each picture but they are awesome. The lady who did these paintings did them all free hand as she is our town artist. The one picture is of the tables in the front section of the hall. We had approximately 220 people there tonight and it was sold out. This was the finest banquet that's every been put on in Mt. Vernon - even the food was awesome - not what I said but what I overheard by many, many people. The building we were in is the new activity building at the Methodist Church. All the left over food was taken to our jail so they will eat good tomorrow. |
