Joey's Memorial

April 2, 2008

Even though this was a sad occasion, I am sending some pictures I took yesterday (4/1/08) at Joey's Memorial service at their Methodist Church. The pictures of both the girls and their families are really precious to me as I'm sure they will be to the immediate families. Debby's oldest son - Adam - was missing but he was at the house over Easter so he did get to see Joey while she was still able to talk to him. The one of Jack, me and Cliff is the one and only picture I have of the three of us together which is really good. My brother, Ron couldn't be here and Deanna wasn't able to make it as she had the flu which was sad because we would have had a picture of the five of us and who knows when that will ever happen again. Jack's legs were bothering him so we let him sit.

As far as services go, this was one of the best because both Debby & Sherri stood up and talked about Joey and Hillary (Sherri's oldest daughter) also stood up and talked about her. Nick (Debby's youngest son) read the 23rd Psalm which made the whole service complete.

Most of the people, other than family, at the church service and the reception, were from the mobile home park where Jack lives and are they ever a GREAT group of people - very loving and kind. One of the neighbors - Mariam & John - had us all to their house for lunch and then they brought the rest of the food to Jack's house and we had left overs for dinner. This couple have been Jack & Joey's closest friends as well as helpers at the drop of a hat.
