Hello Everyone,
Just a short note to tell all of you that Carol and I are still in
Washington and having a great time. I spent a lot of this weekend
fixing
things here at Ann's house that she could not do or had no idea of how
to
do. Anna and Carol found a flat screen computer monitor while out at a
garage sale (junking). Anna wanted it as she has a big old clunky CRT
monitor in her office that is on its last legs. So they brought it
back
and I said that I would remove the old one and install the flat screen
unit. The actual exchange was easy enough but the work was getting the
old monitor out. It was built into a cabinet with all of its
connections
behind file cabinets and other cabinets. Oh gag what a job. But the
new
flat screen works very well now that it is installed. Aside from that
I
moved and reinstalled her computer system in the house, fixed her
microwave oven, and showed her how to download pictures from her
digital
camera.
Carol and went to the movies and visited a small but nice restaurant
here
for breakfast this morning. Food is very good , it is a fun place and
we
again felt "home once again". Tomorrow we are going to go out into the
country and look at stuff. Mount Baker is not far away and has a bunch
of country stores that are fun to visit. Real country stores in a
modern
world. Odd but not for here.
I believe we will take the ferry over to Vancouver Island mid week to
visit our friends from California that have a beautiful ocean side home
in Bowser on the north side of the island. We have been there before
and
enjoy it very much. Then it will be time to head South toward Palm
Springs again. Neither of us are actually looking forward to that but
we
need to get home in a couple of weeks so that I can get ready for my
surgery later this month.
I will take and send pictures on the ferry and things we see on the
