Saturday Afternoon

It is Saturday afternoon right now and the weather is changing rapidly. This morning was clear and beautiful but the weather people said that a light storm would move in by the afternoon. They were right. It has become windy and rain is falling very lightly.

Yesterday we went to Coomb's store to see if we could see the goats that live on the roof. Of course we happened to choose the very day that the county fair was beginning and it was in city of Combs this year. Traffic everywhere with parking at a premium. Somehow we managed to find a parking place right in front of the store which could not have been better. (Right place at the right time traffic wise) Coomb's store is really great-- it has everything from food to gifts. A wonderful bakery, restaurant and camping supply store. We found several things that we "Just had to have" so they came home with us.

We left Coomb's store and went on to the old forest to see it again. I sent pictures of it last year so I did not include them this time. The trees there are huge, very huge. Some of them at 12 foot in diameter and over 150 feet tall. So many trees that it is near dark when walking on the forest floor. There are nice trails in the forest with rest benches and openings where the river winds through the area. This is a national park (its called something different here but I do not remember what it is) As one would suspect there is no trash anywhere, no smoking is allowed and above all you can not take any small plants or cuttings. It is just so natural.

Today, being sat., Carol wanted to go Junking. I thought --Oh Yea where ?.. She got a paper, a local map and off we went. She found several things that spoke to her and are now those things are on the adventure of their lives -- a trip to Palm Springs in our van.

Shortly after we found these new things the weather began to change and we began to wind up and be on our way home.

I have included some pictures taken at the store and at the place we were we went junking (Deep Bay). Since I can not rename the pictures due to the local providers rules I need to describe them once more. We spotted the "Goats" immediately as they were outside eating grass on the roof , then I saw another goat on the very edge if the roof begging for an apple from a lady below. Once we got to Deep Bay to go Junking I saw this beautiful small harborage and snapped this picture while on the fly. Finally, there is a small light house at the end of the small land spit that a single row of homes are built on. I went out there and took the picture of this light house. It is tiny but at night you can see this light for miles out to sea. It is beautiful.

So that is it. The remainder of today will be spent reading and watching the Olympics on TV. Tomorrow we are going to a pancake breakfast at the local marina. Carol found the information in a flyer at the local post office / general store. Naturally, knowing Slim, see talked to two or three people about the breakfast and all said we can come as it is open to the public. Should be fun as Slim will make 27 new friends I'm sure.

We will leave here on Monday and wind our way back to Bellingham for a few more days at Anna's. I still need to find out what is wrong with her kitchen power circuits or re wire the outlets to get her operational again.

The best to all of you
