Gas Prices

Not only is Ike coming, but gas prices have also increased like mad. My son called me from the wrecker service he works at. One of the drivers filled up his wrecker, drove it over to the International Plant, 15 minutes later, drove it back to the lot, passing the station he had filled up at. In that time period, gas prices had increased .50 cents a gallon!! Bbobby said "Mom, you better get gas in your truck while you can." OK, not a bad idea. Had to take Autumn to a well baby appointment anyway. I didn't get gas. Every station I passed that had gas for 3.79 (.20 cents cheaper than the major stations) had easily 8-10 cars at every bay. I did not stop, it's hot, Autumn was not in a sociable mood after getting a shot so we came home. Gas companies are not being fair to the consumers at all. There is absolutely no need to raise prices like that. I'm sure we will see 4.00 + here in Arkansas for regular gas.

Autumn had a 'well baby' check up/shot appointment. I picked up Bobby on the way, Mom had to work. We got to her appointment a full 1/2 hour early which was good. Signed in, sat down. Five minutes later they called her name. Next waiting room. Less than 5 minutes, they called her name again. Bobby said "Come on Autumn, gotta go see your doctor." "OKAY, HOORAY, LETS GO!" she said and was running to the door. She was weighed, had her temp taken and we went to wait. Her nurse was right there, said all she needed today was a shot and she'd be right back with that. The nurse asked Bobby to hold Autumn's hands, because at 2 1/2 kids can grab the hand or the needle. Bobby held out his hands, Autumn took them. Nurse gave her the shot. She looked at the nurse as if to say did you really have to poke me?? Bobby picked her up and said "All done." One little tear, and she said "yeah, I'm ok Daddy". Then she looked at the nurse and said "Thank You". It was adorable. She is now asleep, she had a big afternoon. All in all, her appointment was at 1:00, we got there at 12:30, we were gone by 12:45. If all well baby appointments went that smooth, no one would ever dread it.
