Got home just fine. A very interesting drive. Left Denver to dry bare roads and sunshine and it stayed that way all the way to North Platte Nebraska. Got up to 35 degrees way out East in Colorado and down to 31 at N. Platte, then the sun went away, boom gone! Hid behind a low fog cloud that lasted all the way home. Temperature dropped in 5 miles to 20 degrees and was 17 when we pulled up the driveway. Still bare dry roads all the way home, but whore frost on the South sides of all trees, bushes and grass.

Fog got plenty thick, 1/4 mile visibility and 100 foot ceiling as we turned South towards Holdrege, but we went on down to Holdrege to get my truck home from the Amtrak station. Wasn't home but a few minutes and my friend Dennis called from Holdrege (We were just there 40 minutes earlier) and said they now had thunder, lightning and hail like we get in a summer thunderstorm - all out of the fog and 20 degrees. He said he would send it my way , thanks!

Sure enough, 10 minutes later thunder, lightning and pea size hail. That past on in 10 minutes or so. Now the fog is gone and I can see the lights 3 miles South of me. Still cold, no planting tomatoe plants.

Now just snow coming maybe and a cold weekend. The joys of Nebraska weather!
