Grandma & Grandpa News

Sunday December 14th
Once again the Packers lost. It’s not even fun to watch the games anymore. Grandma rested today and we read our books. It rained.

Monday December 15th
The rain from yesterday turned the driveway into solid ice. Once I got the car up the drive, I left it there. I was worried that driving back down the icy hill I would crash into the house or the garage.

Tuesday December 16th
Oh boy was it cold, -14 degrees. I went to the post office to pick up a package that didn’t fit into the mailbox. It was fudge that my brother, John’s, wife, Cheryl, made. It was very good. The road into town was very slippery. It was too cold to do anything outside so we worked on packing things for our trip to Arizona.

Wednesday December 17th
I had to go to “Senior Day” alone because it was too slippery for Grandma to go out. I had to stop at the bank, the drug store, the library, Wal-Mart ( where else can you buy anti-freeze, underwear, salt, cookies and potato chips?), the grocery store and Papa Murphy’s for pizza. When I got home I had to snow-blow the driveway. Boy was I ever tired.

Thursday December 18th
-16 degrees when we got up. We decided that next year we are leaving for Arizona after Thanksgiving. We are soooo tired of all of the cold and snow. We worked on packing more stuff for the trip. I hope that it will all fit into the car!

Friday December 19th
On Friday I had to go to the doctor’s office in Marinette. Everything checked out good. It was a snowy and slippery ride. After the doctor we went to the mall and Applebee’s for lunch.

Saturday December 20th
It is another cold day, -5 degrees. Grandma is going out with her friends today. They are taking Mary Lou out for lunch and a movie (Seven Pounds) for her birthday. I get to stay home and do laundry.

Now the much awaited “Few words from Grandma”
It was sure great talking to you boys yesterday! Hopefully you can go outside and have fun in all that snow. One week from today and we get to see everyone- yippee!!! Grandpa took me for a nice walk in the mall yesterday. I get out of the house again today — it’s not fun staying in the house all the time. Can’t wait to see those smiling faces!! Big Hugs and Kisses Love you all!!!
