New Job

I worked 9 days straight, up until Tuesday night when I got to come home. I am working almost 4 hours away in "Franklin, Texas". It's over by Waco, you probably heard of it. It is a 7 days a week, 12 hours a day job, building the turbine for an electric generating plant, "clean coal technology fired plant".

The 12 hour days sure take a while to get along, not use to that but am getting use to it. It is NOT a strenuous job, I am their "inventory control specialist", and retrieve parts (small ones) for the guys assembling the turbine, generator, etc. I guess I made an impression in the that first 10 days down there, the head guy running this project (2 BILLION dollar project!), asked my boss if I would consider staying on at the plant after they turn it over to TXU (end customer) when it's finished.

We sure don't want to move down there, but time will only tell. I will be staying in Jan's cousins' fifth wheel trailer when we return there on Sunday afternoon, already have a spot picked out to put it in. Jan and I have been cleaning it up like crazy, I had to high pressure wash it before I left due to it being GREEN all over! Today we have been cleaning the inside of it, after the kids left after lunchtime. Had to buy a tire for it, found a bolt missing in the suspension! It will be very nice by the time we get it ready to go on Sunday.

I will be taking my home computer in it, so the camera in my window here in Mount Vernon, will need to say "Daryl's Traveling cam", OR Daryl's Home away from home" cam. Kinda weird not seeing daylight on the way to work or on the way home. I DID leave a little early last Saturday to go find an RV park to stay in, I think I found a jewel in the one I found. No kids around me, under a tree, everybody knows what's going on with everyone, so nothing happens that somebody doesn't know about, the lady says it is a VERY secure and quiet place to live. It has WIFI, I will be taking the extra Dish receiver from the front bedroom, already bought an extra satellite dish to take, so when I set it up down there I will be watching the same shows I see from home. Full hook ups, with a washer and dryer facility for renters there, plus they will refill your propane if and when needed. I plan on using mostly electric stuff, being electric is included in the monthly price.

Jan will be visiting me every other weekend on her three days off, so we will have to spend time away from each other, much to our displeasure, but we will make up for it then.
