Northwest Report

It's a good thing Cheryl had the long holiday weekend to start the year. We took advantage of the time off together to take down the Christmas decorations. Then the weather got bad again.

With the recent heavy snowfall and now the rain, by the beginning of the second week of January we had major flooding. Our only impact was one day of the train not running. Cheryl needed to get to work, but that was also my pick day so, I drove her in. Later in that afternoon, after I picked my spring work, I picked her up from work and we went home.

This pick was not good. Because of cut backs in funding, I was unable to get work I had hoped for. I was unable to change my days off so they will remain Wednesday and Thursday. There was almost no overtime available for me to pick. Oh, well, maybe next time.

Cheryl spent most of her free time these last couple of weeks working on a retirement DVD she had recorded several months ago. It was time to wrap it up and get it out the door. Most of the editing was finished with just putting it together and burning the disk. Now, it's in the mail.

In between, I was able to make mp3's of a half dozen more old vinyl records and add them to the library. I'm now just about half way done. Then it's on to the audio cassettes. Always a project to do.
