Gardening Bug

It's official, I have the gardening bug again! I've started many plants already to get ready for when I can plant them outside. I have lemon cucumbers, yellow pear tomatoes, red cherry tomatoes and basil in the 'bucket'. The cucumbers are the tall plants, tomatoes along both sides and all the 'little guys' are basil. May seem like a lot of basil, but we use a lot in the summer, and what ever is left over can be dried and used later. It won't go to waste here!

In the corner my honey berries are putting out leaves. Honey berry's are close to blueberries, they actually look like an oblong blueberry. They do well in sun and shade, which is why I chose them. My back yard is not a good 'sun' yard so plants need to be able to thrive and tolerate shade at the same time. Hopefully this year we will get a few berries. I just planted them last year, so this will be their second year. I don't expect a big crop at all, maybe just a handfull to begin with.

Garlic is up in the garden space now also. It's spring in Arkansas, even if the weather people and calendar says it isn't. All sorts of spring bushes are in bloom, crocus is up, daffodils, Bradford Pears are ready to open full bloom. I saw two Magnolia trees out by Robert's work in full bloom!! How beautiful, wish I had the camera! Next time.

The black kitty in the picture is Bobtail. I know the kitty belongs to someone other than me, when it first came here, the area directly around it's tail was shaved as well as it's tail and there were stitches in the end of it's tail. The kitty has taken a liking to me, so I've adopted it.
