Madison, 10 Weeks

Time for another shameless email with pictures of our daughter. I've been promising pictures for weeks, but was finally bribed into sending more out (Thanks, Mom).

Madison is doing great. Her 2 month appointment is tomorrow. Yeah, I'm aware she'll be 2.5 months. Try telling that to Kearney Clinic and the pediatrician who postponed our appointment to go golfing. Okay, so I'm making assumptions. I'll let you know how it goes.

She's now too long for one-piece clothing in Newborn size. Two-pieces is just fine in Newborn size for now, so I think she might just be long for her age. As for one-piece clothing, she's doing great in 0-3 month clothing. As a side note, I had NO IDEA there was a difference in those two sizes until I became a parent.

Madison is learning all sorts of cool stuff right now. She smiles at Craig and I and recognizes our voices. She'll watch one or the other of us walk out of a room and follow us with her eyes the whole way. One of my favorites that she's learned is that she reaches her arms up to me and smiles when I go to pick her up. It just pulls that special mommy heartstring. She also giggles a lot more now when Craig and I play with her or a lot in her sleep. She loves moving things right now. She enjoys her mobiles and a friend of ours gave us a white noise machine that projects a moving image against the wall, ceiling, or the side of her crib. She adores it. Speaking of her crib, she's now sleeping in her own crib and in her own room. We all sleep better that way. She doesn't have to listen to us snore, and we don't jump up at every grunt or sneeze she makes. We just use the baby monitor and keep her in her crib throughout the night. In her 10 weeks, she has slept through the night twice, with #2 happening last night. Other than those flukes, she usually wakes every 3 hours on average.

So far, we are LOVING cloth diapering. We use disposables sometimes (for the grandmas and when we go camping later this week as an example) but we use cloth whenever we possibly can. It costs less, is good for the environment, and darn it-just cute!

Craig and I adore her more and more every day. Her baptism is on April 19, and I'm trying to arrange with our pastor that I be baptized at the same time she is.

And now that you've listened to my rambling, you shall be rewarded with cuteness.
