Madison 3 1/2 months/Mother's Day

We're doing great here. Madison is growing so quickly and we're cherishing every day with her!

The first week of April, we took her on her first vacation, to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma. We loaded up Craig's parents' suburban to the brim with everything needed to camp with a baby for a week, added a few things we thought we'd need but didn't, then added our one suitcase for the two of us. One thing that we did this time that I wouldn't do in the future is drive through the night so the baby could sleep better. Sure-she slept, but we were useless the next day when she was wide awake. Other than that mistake, camping with a baby isn't nearly as crazy as I accused my husband of being. Although our brand new double sleeping bag now has a 'special' stain on it from Madison, it was a wonderful time.

We got back from vacation and left for my parents' place three days later. For you country folk, it was time to fix the fence for the year before the cattle came in. Craig, Dad, and I loaded up in the truck and 4-wheeler and got everything done in a day. Mom was in heaven because she got to watch the baby while we were out working. It was a quick, but very productive trip.

After a five day breather, it was baptism weekend. Madison and I were baptized together on April 19 at the same church that Craig and I were married in. A lot of family that we hadn't seen in a while came into town and we all had a wonderful time. It was so special for our family.

Since then, we've had fun taking her fishing, morel mushroom hunting, and playing with her here at home. She loves mobiles, tummy time, cuddling with us, (and long walks on the beach). She goes to bed between 8-9 and sleeps until about 5. A lot of times she'll go to back to sleep after a change and feeding. I try to read to her before bedtime for a while every night.

My first Mother's Day was incredible and I can't even remember what my life was like before motherhood. We are both very blessed with a wonderful baby.

Here are some pictures of the last month for Madison. It's been a busy one!
