Sleep Apnea test

I went for a sleep apnea test yesterday. Before I left home, I had to make sure my hair was CLEAN, with no conditioner and no makeup or moisturizer. They want your face and head clean so the "stuff" will stick to your skin. This gunk they put in your hair is horrible so I had to come home and wash it out which took two shampoos.

I was wired on my head, face, heart and legs so each time I got up to go to the bathroom during the night, the nurse had to come in and unplug me and the bathroom was WAY down the hall. Being I was in a very small unit in Pittsburg (TX), they didn't have showers like the bigger places have so I had to wait until I got home to shampoo my hair.

Each time I needed the nurse, all I had to do was talk and she could hear me from the room where she was monitoring me (down the hall). The camera that took pictures of me all night was infrared so I didn't see anything in my room but she could watch me all night. They would like to have "lights out" by 10 p.m. (I did) and get woke up at 5 a.m. but I was already awake. It's impossible to turn over without the nurse's help because of ALL the many wires.

It was 83 degrees when I left Pittsburg at 5:25 a.m. - hot and humid.

Sleep apnea tends to be genetic - at least that's what the doctors are now thinking.
