Purley Gates

First of all, my friend Stacey had called me Thursday and asked me if I wanted to go to a friend's house, Judy, who was going to have a showing of all the jewelry she's been making, at her house - all for sale.

Her husband, Larry, asked us if we would like to go outside and see a two-day old lamb. That was the cutest thing you ever saw and she was almost attached to her mom because if her mom moved, so did she. Larry had a set of twin lambs that were two months old inside the barn and they were also cute but not quite as cute as the two-day old one. Emma, the lady that went with us and was driving, used my cell phone to take some pictures but I don't know where the adapter is to get the pictures off the phone. When I find it I will send it on.

When we left there, Emma asked us if we'd ever been to Purley Gates and neither Stacey or I had been there. I need to say that there is a spot in the road called "Purley" and some man bought thousands of acres of property off the side road and called it Purley Gates. It is a gated Christian camp community that is immense with you name it buildings. Emma's sister is the woman in charge of all the cooking out there (gorgeous HUGE kitchen) when there are parties and this weekend about 115 Red Hat gals were out there. They had James Wages, the Elvis impersonator for entertainment. I saw four different ladies I knew in there so we all got excited to see each other because I hadn't seem some of them since I was in the Red Hats. This Elvis impersonator is the one I always go to Mt. Pleasant Jamboree to see when he's there.

Emma's sister opened the main lodge for us that has the main room plus 10 individual like motel rooms off of each end of the main room (it is HUGE) that are very beautifully appointed. I took a picture of the main chandelier as well as the deck off of the lodge. This whole place in is rolling wooded hills that is just spectacular, especially now that the trees are totally leafed out. Below the main lodge there is a lake that even has paddle boats on it if people want to use them. This camp is only open to paying groups with a reservation but I don't have any idea what it costs.

Emma and Stacey picked me up a little before 1 p.m. and we got home a little after 4 p.m. Stacey had planned on putting the window tint film on my front bedroom window but she needed to get home to feed ALL her dogs (there are many) and that is where Sandy will be going. I had such a great afternoon but almost got my legs walked off. Fortunately, the weather wasn't quite as hot today so it wasn't too bad being outside doing the things we were. We saw so much more but it would take me a lot more writing to tell you everything. All in all, one of the best afternoons I've had in I don't know when.
