I can't believe my little girl is 6 months old already! It's so bittersweet to watch her get bigger by the day. We had our 6 month appointment yesterday with the doctor. She's 26 1/4" long (80th percentile), weighs 16 lbs even (55th percentile) and her head measured 17" (60th percentile). We got her shots and the doctor noticed that she had some mild excema like her dad. It's not very bad, so he said just to keep her lotioned up.

In the beginning of June, we started her on solids. Rice cereal every once in a while at first and now almost every day. She's a really good eater and opens up her little mouth right away when she sees the spoon. The doc told us yesterday that we can start fruits and veggies whenever we're ready.

Madison rolled over for the first time the third week in June. Now her favorite game is to roll over onto her tummy, play a little, then scream for one of us to come running to her rescue and roll her back over. Of course as soon as we do that, she rolls back onto her tummy 2 seconds later and the game starts all over again. We're still working on getting her to roll from tummy to back by herself and sitting up by herself.

We also took her swimming for the first time on the Fourth of July. She didn't like the wading pool at all, but once I got in the big pool with her, I think she was able to relax and feel more secure because I was holding her but she still got to be in the water.

I'm not sure, but we think she's starting to teethe. She's been a little harder to console when she gets cranky and she chews on anything she can get her hands on. She's also occasionally waking in the night where she had been sleeping through the night previously. Yay baby Tylenol!

Last week, after 6 weeks of interviews, I was offered a job here in Kearney! I'm so excited to get back to work after getting laid off, but at the same time, I sure will miss hanging out with my little girl during the day.
