Visiting and Moving

By Artie & Heidi Cardona

We left in the wee hours of the morning in Tampa, Florida on July 27th to make our way across the United States to our new home in Richland, WA. The area is also known as Tri-Cities because it is made up of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco cities. This is where Artie will be working as a Recruiter for the Army.

We drove to Houston, TX for our first stop, then proceeded on towards McNeal, AZ where Artie’s parents live. We spent the night at his parents’ house. While there his Aunt Sandy, who lives right next door, came over and his Dad picked up Artie’s daughter, Jordyn and brought her over to visit. We all had a great time.

The next morning we traveled up to Las Vegas to visit Grandma Glaeser. We only stayed the night but while we were there Grandma showed us around and took us out to the casino for dinner and breakfast. While there we took lots of pictures.

The next morning we drove up to Caldwell, ID which is right next to Boise. We got there really late so we slept in till about 8 a.m. and drove to Kennewick, where Artie will be working out of. We shopped around for an apartment and we lucked out on a really nice one in Richland, which is just north of Kennewick. We left around 3p.m. and drove to Mom and Dad’s in Renton and got there around 6 p.m. on Friday July 31st.

We stayed at Mom and Dad’s house for a while, so while we were there we made ourselves useful and helped around the house and the yard. Those stories were put up on the website already as well as the pictures.

We left Mom and Dad’s on 19th of August to head back down to Richland to do our final paperwork on our apartment. On the 20th our household goods was delivered. Some stuff didn’t make it in good shape so we will be making claims on that. So, as of now our apartment is complete but eventually we will be investing in a new couch and a dining set.
