Northwest Update

It’s a quieter house now that Artie and Heidi are in Kennewick. My pick for fall work and finishing the Rhodie garden have been tops on our list.

Artie and Heidi left a week ago. We had a great time with them. It was fun to go to all the tourist places with Artie. We sure did appreciate all the help around the house and especially with our garden work. We still have the cats, but we’re planning on delivering them next week. A good excuse to see their new apartment!

My pick for fall work turned out very well. Not only was I able to keep up the overtime (almost 9 hours a week), I was able to pick the routes that I like to drive. What made the pick even better was that I could change my days off to Sundays and Mondays. This will give Cheryl and me a day together each week. Also, because I’ll be off Sundays, I’ll have most of the holidays off too!

This week we finished what we started in the garden with Artie and Heidi. Our planned Rhododendron garden is finished. We pulled the last of the sod out and move two Rhodies from the south side of the house to the front. They filled the space and now there are a total of 5 plants in front of the tall arborvitae. We added some bark chips to the garden and later plan to put a block edge on it. Check out these pictures of the garden.
