Autumn and Scrambled Eggs

I have Autumn enrolled in a HIPPIE program. It's basically like a home school Head Start. Part of the lesson she has this week is to make some French Toast. I think she pretty much has that part of the lesson done already.

Last Friday she wanted some scrambled eggs. They seem to be one of her favorite foods. I got out the eggs and automatically, Autumn says, I can crack the eggs Gramma, my Daddy showed me how. I let her have the eggs and sure enough, she cracked them and put them in the bowl. She did get one piece of shell in them but ya know what, I'm a 'seasoned egg cracker' and I still get a shell in there every now and again. We took out the shell.

I was going to scramble them when she goes on to say, I can mix them too, my Daddy showed me how. Sure enough, she mixed them. I added a bit of milk, she put in a 'sprinkle' of salt. (not too much, Daddy said) Then came time to cook the eggs. Again, she said I can do this Gramma, my Daddy showed me how. That little girl got up on the big chair and sure enough, she cooked her eggs. I was right there, not about to leave her side with a hot pan in front of her. She cooked her eggs to her liking and was quite happy with herself. She gave me a bite, said, these are some good scrambled eggs aren't they Gramma. I said they were the best ever. She just beamed.

I am always amazed at what this child does. She is only 3 1/2!! I don't know that I knew as much as she does when I was 3 1/2 and none of my boys did. Maybe girls are just faster than boys. I do know that Autumn is very smart, learns quickly and easily. She is a pure joy at times. And then at other times she is pure hellion as most 3 yr olds can be.

These are the pictures of Autumn making her own scrambled eggs. She is wearing an apron I made for her last week.
