Picked up a new cam for our South view. This one has a much wider view and tolerates brightness very well. The cam itself is very small (less than one by two inches) and very light. There is a built in cord so no fear of becoming unplugged. This camera is a USB 2 device and requires all USB 2 connections. If you need an extension cable it must also be USB 2 and the computer must support USB 2.
This is a Ativa Mobil IT mini webcam. Item number 780-620. The camera claims Plug & Play Functionality, Autofocus, has a built in microphone and is 1.3 m3gapixels. It is XP SP2, Vista and Windows 7 compatable.
After I mounted the cam and got the image I wanted, I went into camera settings and turned the autofocus off. That way rain on the window wouldn't drive the cam nuts. Today I went and picked up two more from Office Depot for $13.99 each.
