Fish Fry

I took one of my friends with me tonight to the fish fry in Hagansport and then Daryl & Jan went by themselves. Betty & I saved two places for them and they didn't get there until close to 5. I'm sure this was the biggest crowd they've ever had in all the times I've been there, which have been MANY. It's supposed to start at 5 p.m. but if you don't get there shortly after 4:30 (Betty & I got there at 4:35), you won't find a seat.

We all finally got up about 5:30 just so four people could sit down and eat. They must have made some good money tonight as it's just a donation and is a fund raiser for the North Franklin County Volunteer Fire Dept. When we left, there were still people waiting to get in the building, much less the people still waiting inside to get their food. I guess people are tired of being home because of so much rain in the past weeks.

The firemen cook the fish and fries out in the open back room and it's all catfish some people have caught. They also serve Hush Puppies, good Cole Slaw and beans that are delicious. Plus a lot of the women in the area bring all kinds of desserts and there are PLENTY of them. Although tonight I bet they run out because I'm sure no one was expecting that many people.
