Spring Weekend

February 22, 2010
By John & Cheryl Schmit

Winter seems to be officially over here in the Pacific Northwest. The warm sunshine is pulling everyone outside to play. We were seduced also. On Monday, February 15th, we took some time to go to the Pacific Science Center. They had a new Mars exhibit we wanted to see. After we got home we played in the yard.

We enjoy all aspects of space related activities and the Pacific Science Center was having a big, hands on Mars exhibit. We were hoping to beat the crowds by going early in the day. As expected, the displays were great and we really got a feel for how it would be living and working on Mars. By the time we got through the entire exhibit the kids were beginning to overflow. It was time for fudge. We had a good time.

Cheryl decided to replace the puny roses next to the garage with two bushes that are supposed to have fuller blossoms. We'll see. We also added some early color to the north garden with some primroses. Since it was Presidents Day, John put the flag out for the year. Hopefully the weather stays nice.

Spring weather got to us and we took full advantage of it.
