Redondo Beach

I went, by myself, to Redondo Beach today off of Pacific Highway (it's also Hwy. 99) - that's about 5 miles from where I live. I went to Salty's in Redondo (VERY FAMOUS) and if you look at their site on the web -www.saltys.com - they might show the prices - I haven't looked. I went inside and asked if I could see a dinner menu. I looked on the first page only at the prices and the cheapest I saw was $34.99 but I'm told the prices go up from there - even to $80.

Salty's has an adjoining "shack" something like Andrea's in Ventura (but this was much smaller) where you can order and eat out front next to the road or take out. They have a deck out back (over the water) but that's only for the restaurant patrons. I bought fish and chips which were okay but not as good as Andrea's because these chips were too greasy and Cole slaw didn't come with it like at Andrea's. They had other things on the menu but if I'm at the beach, I will only order fish and chips.

I walked out on the pier next to Salty's (sat on a bench for about 20 min.) and took some pictures. The day was glorious because it was in the mid 70's down there and the sun on my arms was HOT. Next time I go, I will wear long sleeves because I was afraid I would get burned is why I didn't sit longer. Of course, typical beach weather.

I'm soooooooooooooo happy and thrilled to think I have a "beach" and boardwalk so close to me even if it is just on the "Sound". Their sand was different than what was in Oxnard and Ventura (more coarse) but mamas and their kids were on the sand eating and playing. The tide was out when I was there so the water wasn't very close. This beach is even further south from where I live and I live south of Seattle in the Puget Sound if you look on a map.

I'm also sending a picture of the Super Walmart I shop at because it is so different than anything I ever saw in TX and it's HUGE - the biggest Super Walmart I've ever been in.
