Darlene and I were invited the other day to a once-a-year Strawberry Festival at an Assisted Living home next to the Senior Center. They told us to bring more people if we wanted to so we did today and what fun we had. I invited two ladies in this apartment building besides Darlene so the four of us went over there - I drove.
There was the BEST music with a woman (piano) and her husband (singing) and the music was all of our era. The husband even asked us to join in on a couple of songs. There must have been well over 50 people there and possibly closer to 75. The goodies - that never seemed to quit coming - were EXCELLENT. They first served strawberry lemonade, then coffee and then started bringing the many trays of all different desserts - I'm stuffed and will probably have a good sugar high through the evening. I would hate to take my blood sugar count tonight or even tomorrow morning because I'm sure it's elevated.
All four of us said what a great afternoon and the other two gals kept thanking me over and over for inviting them. I figured if the car was going, why not fill it up and the other two women are nice as well.
The three women here and the one lady from church are all my friends now so it's really great for me. I've been here 2-1/2 months and have made some really good friends for which I'm so happy about.
