Elvis Concert

What a fun day I had today. The Metro Access bus ($1 each way to and from home) came at 2:30 and picked up Darlene & me to take us to Providence Mount St. Vincent - an Assisted Living and Nursing Home in West Seattle for a concert. We had to transfer buses once so that took quite a bit of time.

It takes a while to get on and off the bus because Darlene had her walker so she could carry a chair and I was pushing her small basket with a chair in it. We both had to use the lift to get on the bus - going and coming home.

We got there just before 3:45 and we were real early because food wasn't served until 5 p.m. We had a choice of seats and didn't need our chairs. The concert started at 6 and played until 7:30 and it was free.

The singer was Danny Vernon, an Elvis impersonator, that was good. He didn't wear a jumpsuit the first half of the program but he changed into one for the second half. He was giving away teddy bears when he sang the song Elvis made popular. I forget what he was singing when he was putting scarves around women's necks - three of them - and he put the second one around my neck.

After the concert anyone that wanted a picture with him could have it. I went up but Darlene was watching our purses so some man in the crowd took our picture which is just a little bit fuzzy but at least I got it. Darlene is a follower of this "Elvis" and has seen him quite a number of times.

Providence had a hamburger dinner for $5 and a fried chicken dinner for $10 - I bought the hamburger, which was very good. The Access bus came back and picked us up a little before 8pm and we were home by 8:45.

Here are some pictures. While we were waiting for the bus, I looked out (we were on top of a hill) and could see the water on Puget Sound and downtown Seattle so I took a picture of that just as it was getting dark.
