Salmon & Shopping

Darlene and I left here this morning at 10 a.m. and drove to Issaquah using the GPS. I would have never made it without that. We were on Highway 167 and thought we were going to sit there forever as the traffic was backed up all the way back to the 180th Street off-ramp. As we got closer to Interstate 405 and on to it, we saw two VERY close accidents waiting to happen. We both drew in our breaths because both of these people were just too inpatient.

Darlene had never been in Issaquah and had she ever seen any fish hatchery. The spawning was this morning but we did see some salmon - see the two pictures. Lots of dead fish on the other side of the bridge after they laid their eggs. We went over by the glassed in area and there were three fish in there watching all the people. Both of us just couldn't believe how HUGE these salmon were.

I asked Darlene if she'd been to the Outlet Mall in North Bend and she said no. I told her we were so close we could go there and she was delighted. We ate at Arby's up there and just as we got in line, a tour bus with all senior citizens pulled up with a load of people who all came in behind us.

We went shopping in the Bass Shoe Store and both bought a pair of shoes that were on sale with 60% off. I wanted to go to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate store but I was good and didn't even go there.

The weather couldn't have been more beautiful. We got home at 3:15 p.m.
