Des Moines Pier

Darlene and I left here at noon to go to the Des Moines pier to sit and enjoy the gorgeous weather. When we saw all the gulls sitting on that "sandbar", we realized the tide was coming in so they didn't get to sit there long. We were there for over an hour just sitting and walking around a little bit enjoying the beautiful day.

We left there and thought we would find a Baskins Robbins Ice Cream store so I looked it up on my GPS and they had a transposed address in there (which we found out when we got home) so we never found it. We went to Fred Meyer on Pac Hwy and asked one of the box boys if he knew where there was one of the stores and he told us he thought so in Federal Way Commons. Nope, but we found Trader Joe's which I'd never been in since I moved to WA and I bought some Bohemian Lager beer.

We left there and got home at 4:30 and were worn out. I got on the computer and found out that the Baskins Robbins was a little further than what my GPS said, even though we didn't see it so I called the store when I got home. Darlene said she heard that there was a new Super Walmart in Auburn so I looked on the net and phoned them - there is and it's around the Auburn Supermall someplace - it opened a week ago yesterday. It's not quite 7 miles from me and the Federal Way Super Walmart is 9 miles so I will start going to the Auburn one.

After all that fresh air and driving up and down Pacific Highway looking for a store we couldn't find, we were both worn out. We both totally ENJOYED the day and soooooooooo glad I didn't stay home today. I will be volunteering at the Senior Center tomorrow morning from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and I'm going to take the free Shopper Shuttle bus up there.
