What A GLORIOUS Day We Had Today!

Cheryl called at noon and asked if I would like to go for a ride with them so I said yes. When they picked me up, they didn't know where they wanted to go, but they said "let's go see the snow". They had heard it was snowing about 15 miles south of me in Puyallup. John was just playing it by ear and taking different roads as we drove south and up into the hills. Finally we decided to go toward Mt. Rainier. As we were driving, we came across a site they'd been wanting to see for years called "Northwest Trek". A wildlife park located about 36 miles south of Kent.

The park had a closed in tram ride through a 435 acre free roaming area for moose, mountain bighorn sheep, deer, and bison and we saw them all. The total park is 725 acres. It was snowing the whole time we were on the tram. It had snowed quite a bit before we got there, leaving about an inch on everything.

The tram ride was 50 minutes long and all the passengers were "oohing" and "awing" every time we saw a different kind of animal. Cheryl didn't bring her camera so I gave her mine and John used his. We were up at about 750 ft. and it was 32 degrees, not real cold and there wasn't any wind.

On the way home, we stopped to eat at Wendy's Restaurant and all of us had some of their Chili - good as usual. It had stopped snowing by the time we got back to Auburn and the full moon came out. When we got back to Cheryl's & John's we copied the pictures off my camera. It was snowing with big flakes at their house, but nothing was accumulating. Since they are at about 600 ft., they are far more likely to have snow than me because I'm down in the valley.
