Star Wars at The Seattle Center

Cheryl and I had a wonderful day together and enjoyed the beautiful Spring sunshine. The day included the Star Wars exhibit, visiting the Naked Mole Rats and the Butterflies at the Pacific Science Center. After a lunch of fish and chips at the Seattle Center, we headed North around Lake Washington and found a nice little park in Kenmore. A great day with lots of pictures!

The Star Wars exhibit at the Pacific Science Center was great! There were many items from the movies and cool insights as to how the movies were made. We sat through and enjoyed a presentation on robots and their construction and uses. There were many hands on displays for everyone to work with. Limited entrance to the exhibit prevented over crowding and left ample time to try several displays. R2D2 and 3CPO were seen throughout the Center.

While at the Pacific Science Center we had to check in on the Naked Mole Rats and the Butterflies. New to the Mole Rats were makings red and blue or black. They must be trying to keep track of certain ones. Most of the Mole Rats were busy chewing something, even the tooth sharpening stone. It's good to see a healthy population there.

It must be mating season for the butterflies. The big blue ones were sure playing with each other. We were able to get many pictures of a variety of butterflies. With a temperature between 80 and 85 in the butterfly house, we felt warm and cozy.

Back out in the sunshine and fortified with a Starbucks special, we decided to take the photo opportunities to capture some Seattle scenic beauty. We drove around the North end of Lake Washington and checked out some places we'd not been before. Sunshine was replaced with scattered showers later in the afternoon, but that did not dampen the great day.
