Snoqualmie Casino

Darlene and I had such a fun day today. The Access bus picked us up this morning at 9:15 and took us to the Bellevue Transfer area (at the Bellevue Park and Ride) where we boarded another bus that took us up to the Casino. Crazy driver from Bellevue to the casino but not even a tiny bit as bad as the one we had from the Casino back to Bellevue. He constantly played on his GPS and I'm sure he never once kept the bus in the lane without almost sideswiping a number of cars. Even when he wasn't almost hitting cars, he drove zig-zag down whatever lane he was in - a young guy. Darlene and I were constantly grabbing each other and almost getting kicked out of our seats even with our seat belts tight and we kept tightening them more.

We arrived at the Casino at 10:45 a.m., looked around for awhile, took a couple of pictures and then went into the buffet. I had a coupon to buy one buffet, $14.95, and get a complimentary lunch free. We knew we would split the bill which meant each of our lunches was $7.50, including our drinks and oh, was it good. Normally, the senior citizen lunch price is $9.95 (during the week) but because of the coupon, we had to pay full price. Of all the buffets I've eaten in, I do believe this was the very best and even Darlene said the same thing. One of the meats was "Flat Iron" steak cooked to perfection and as tender as could be. After 4 p.m., the main meat is Prime Rib on Wed. When we got to the Casino, the place was reasonably empty but by the time we left at 3:15, it was TOTALLY crowded and cars kept coming. This is a Wed. and nothing going on but maybe there was going to be a concert tonight that we didn't look into. We couldn't even find a slot machine in the non-smoking section before we left because it was that busy. During the morning and early afternoon, the place looked like a senior citizen convention.

We played the penny slots and I lost $15, which I really can't afford, but we had so much fun laughing. Darlene came home with about $30 ahead, I think. There is a bar in the center of this casino that is round with a huge fountain over the top of it. If anyone wants a non-alcoholic drink, it is free there so we sat in the bar for about 1/2 hr. each drinking a soda.

When we got to Bellevue and waiting for our bus home, I took a picture of an Access bus. A driver was there that was coordinating the drop offs and pickups of everyone and he asked me "what are you doing"? I told him "I just want a picture of a bus like we traveled on today and want to put it on my computer." He was worried that I had a complaint and was going to use the picture against Metro. I assured him I wouldn't be doing anything of the kind so he didn't confiscate my camera (as I thought he was going to do) - he was VERY upset with me.

We got home at 5:45 p.m. so it was a long day but so much fun for something I've never done before - via the four different Access buses. Just the two of us on each bus.
