4th of July Weekend

What a great 4th of July weekend we had. Lisa and Lexi came in to stay with Nana and Artie and Heidi came in to stay with us. Over the three days Allen joined us several times and we all got together for good food and fun, including fireworks.

Lisa, Lexi and Nana took off early to check out Redondo Beach and Salt Water State Park. With the clear skies, the mountain was as beautiful as ever. Later that afternoon, Cheryl and I joined them at Nana's apartment to hook up the air conditioner. Warm weather was predicted for the holiday.

When we got back home Artie and Heidi had arrived from Tri-Cities. They settled in to the guest bedroom, had dinner and joined us for a relaxing time around the fire pit in the back yard. Lots of good conversation and smoky fun.

Lisa, Lexi, and Nana came over on Sunday and we all got in the car to do the tourist thing. Lisa had never been to Seattle, so we HAD to show her the main sights. Across the floating bridge to downtown we went, just in time to see Safeco Field filled with fans for a Mariners game. After cruising the waterfront we headed up onto Queen Anne hill for a magnificent view of the area. We all got out and played a little at the view point in Kerry Park.

After we got home, we played as we waited for the grill to warm up. We went over to the neighborhood park with the little one and relaxed in the warm afternoon sun. The burgers and fixin's were delicious and we even had an episode of noisy fireworks in the back yard. Sure scared Lexi!

After dark we had a great time blowing up noisemakers and shooting off artillery into the sky. Everyone got involved and the night was noisy.

The night of the Fourth brought out even more fireworks as Allen joined us along with Artie and Heidi and Nana for the fun. Another Bar B Que and smoky fire to round things out.

A lot of great fun with lots of family!
