Russ and Lisa Barton Wedding

It was a beautiful wedding. The weather was perfect, the setting was comfortable and the bride was beautiful. Family and friends gathered together to see Russ and Lisa reunite. I had the honor of officiating the wedding this last Friday. You couldn't ask for a better day.

Cheryl and I packed the car early Thursday morning. We then picked up Nana and Allen and began the 5 hour ride to Spokane, WA. The ride went fast as we talked and planned our activities at the wedding. Besides officiating, Cheryl, Allen and I volunteered to do still and video pictures. We discussed what we wanted to get in the images and how we would be doing that.

After checking in to the motel, we headed over to the house for the rehearsal. We met all the members of the wedding party and even some of the friends. The setting was planned and we walked through the ceremony. Everyone began to understand what they would do. We then relaxed and had some good food and talk. Many memories were shared as some hadn't seen each other in almost 20 years.

We arrived at the house on Friday about 2pm. Cheryl went with Lisa as she prepared for the wedding. Allen and I began setting up the video cameras and discussed positions during and after the ceremony. Soon it was 4:30 and time to begin. I walked to the center area. Russ and the Best Man joined me and the boys began seating the immediate families. They then joined us. The Brides Maids came down the aisle followed by Lexi, the Flower Girl. She did a wonderful job of spreading the flower petals!

The wedding march was played, everyone stood and Lisa was escorted down the aisle by her Step Father. I thanked everyone for joining in the celebration and we began the ceremony. You could feel the love in the air as Russ and Lisa said their vows. There was a round of applause as Russ took Lisa in his arms and kissed her. Joy and happiness followed the couple as they walked back up the aisle.

Again it was picture time as group after group needed pictures with Russ and Lisa. Then came the toasts and the Best Man and Maid of Honor had very emotional things to say. Two cakes were brought out and the cutting was picture perfect. The crowd was hungry as everyone joined in the food that followed.

After signing the marriage certificate, my job was done and the final pictures were taken. The sun was setting and the music was playing as the party got to full swing. A wonderful day, a great ceremony and a lovely couple.
