Little Bit

Well folks, I think my 'little bit' granddaughter is just way too grown for her short 5 years. Today we had her baby sister, Nadia, for a short time. Nadia is 20 months. Autumn is carrying her around and says "oh I think I smell a stinky diaper". She lays Nadia down, inspects the 'soiled diaper' and says, 'yep, just as I thought'.

I said OK looks like we need to change her. Autumn speaks up, one hand up to 'shush' me and says "I got this Gramma". OK, She proceeds to get out a new diaper, baby wipes, instructs Nadia to 'lay still'. She removes the soiled diaper, cleans her with a baby wipe and then says "Gramma, we do have rash medicine don't we?" I said yes we do. She goes on to say, "will you get it for me, Nadia needs some." So of course I got it!! (what else would I do???)

Autumn had placed the new diaper under her, she then applied the Desitin and said OK Gramma, we are good to go. I was amazed. I do not think when I was 5 that I knew how to change a diaper, let alone apply 'rash ointment'. This child continues to amaze me, every day.
