Trip to Carpinteria, Ca

You may be getting tired of travel stories and pictures but Carol and I, along with a close friend, went to Carpinteria, just below Santa Barbara, last week for a "Desert heat get-a-way" for a few days. Carol and I along with our sons, when they were smaller, often went to Carpinteria State park to go camping. Over the years we began to think of this tiny old fashion town as our dream vacation place for us as it does not seem to have changed much in the last 40 years we have gone there there.

We always stay at the same motel and get a garden room on the bottom floor. These rooms have a private patio that adjoins a larger interior garden patio that is fully covered with mesh netting 3 stories up. It is so lovely and semi-tropical in there. Carol and I love to sit out on our patio and play board games, read or just talk and have coffee.

While on the way to Carpinteria, we stopped at our favorite "Fish and Chips" shack -- Andria's for lunch. [Barbara orginally took us there when she lived in Oxnard] It is a simple place that has always had great sea food. Attached is a few pictures of Beverly (our friend) and I eating and the meal you get when you order fish and chips. Believe me it is ALL you can eat when its served; these pictures represent one meal serving.

After lunch we went on to the motel and checked in. In all we had a wonderful three days there and a day of traveling. I have included a few pictures of the garden room patio and the interior court yard that immediately adjoins our patio inside this atrium. Along with those pictures I have included a few of the beach there and a couple of Slim........She was so happy up there.

It was a super trip, was fun for all of us, is about 4 - 5 hours away and is always a welcome place to go.
