Lisa's Visit

What a FANTASTIC day we've had.... We left here this morning and Lisa drove to Seattle (per Cheryl's instructions) to where Cheryl works and we picked her up a little before 10. She sat in the front seat and told Lisa how to find a parking structure.

Cheryl took us to the "Transit Tunnel" where the buses and light rail go and we went up and down escalators and elevators for different station levels. We rode the light rail for two stops, crossed to the other side (up and down escalators and elevators) and went back to where we started. There was a homeless person sitting on the floor in one elevator we got in - she said she wanted to get out of the weather.

The day turned out absolutely gorgeous and the sun even came out. When we left the tunnel, we came back up to street level and walked to the Pike's Place Market where we had lunch at the "Pub and Brewery".

No way would I ever have been able to do what we did downtown today without Cheryl. Of course, I had my walker all this time or I couldn't have done any of it. After we got back to the parking garage, Cheryl stayed in the front seat and guided Lisa all around different parts of Seattle and then we took Cheryl back to work.

I was still in the back seat so once we got on the I-5, Lisa found an off-ramp so I could get into the front seat. It just so happened that the off ramp she got off on is where the Franz Bakery (number one bakery up here) is so we went into their outlet store and got bread, etc.

We got back on I-5 and I had to guide Lisa so I saw the off ramp for the Boeing Museum Of Flight. I called Cheryl and she looked on-line and adult tickets were $17.50 and seniors were $14.50 - we both said NO WAY. I showed Lisa where to park so we could take more pictures of the older planes so we got to see the Concord where it is parked right in front of all the other planes. It is really small compared to most airliners.

I suggested we go down to the "beach" in Des Moines where Lisa has been before and it was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was playing on the water and to the north big storm clouds were building up and moving south. There is a storm coming in and the sky was starting to really get dark. After sitting in the car for awhile and watching the tide come in, we decided to get home before it started raining.

Both Lisa and I are too pooped to pop. Both of our legs are feeling all the walking and neither of us are ready to walk anyplace else today. I could hardly make it up the one STEEP HILL we walked up so Cheryl took hold of the front of my walker to help me get up it.

Lisa might not be able to go home tomorrow if the weather is too bad going through the pass. As we speak, Spokane is having a very bad snow storm. Drew sent Lisa pictures from his cell phone and from the looks and sounds of it, they are really having bad weather. We might even wake up to snow in the morning We will monitor the pass real good before Lisa leaves so she doesn't get stuck up there someplace where they won't let her go any further. While we were in the car Russ called and asked her to be very careful coming home so she told him that we will monitor the weather real good before she leaves here.

Lisa and I plan to go to church tomorrow before she leaves (if she does).
