Edgewater Hotel

Darlene and I went with a group from the Senior Center today to the Edgewater Hotel and restaurant in downtown Seattle, on the water front. This hotel was built in 1962 and is very iconic because the Beatle's fished out of their rooms windows. This hotel is built on the water so the only part on land is where a person enters and it is beautiful inside. We could see the huge new Ferris Wheel, from the bus, but the sun was in my eyes coming home so I couldn't take a picture.

It was a gorgeous day and is now up to 75 outside at 4 p.m.

The food was good but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I ordered salmon that was prepared with a sesame crust - super good. But, on the platter, they packed a round bowl of white rice and turned it upside down with absolutely nothing on it - as plain as it came out of the cooker. The salad they served was all types of greens and nothing cut up so it was hard to eat. For soup I had butternut squash and it was delicious. No bread or rolls were served. They did have wonderful desserts but one of the gals had a broken piece of porcelain in her dessert so she told the waitress, who brought her a different dessert. Darlene ordered a glass of white wine and she had to pay for that which cost her $9 - it probably wasn't more than 3 ounces, if that.

On the way home, a bunch of us were talking and we all agreed that we won't go back there again, given the chance. My lunch was $16, which was included in the total price of the trip. The best part is that we got to ride on one of our two new bus/vans from the Senior Center and it was as comfortable as any big coach.
