Lisa-Lexxi Visit

Oh my goodness, did I ever have the best Sunday and Monday that I've had in a long time. Lisa and Lexxi arrived Sun. afternoon about 4 p.m. and then the three of us went up to Cheryl's and John's house to visit. Cheryl had dinner already for us. Allen had arrived at their house before we got there. There was a barrel of fun until Lisa, Lexxi and I left a little after 8 p.m.

We stopped at Fred Meyer on the way home so I could get some groceries. When we got up Monday morning, Lisa made the best Smoothies for us with Kale, Spinach, frozen blueberries & strawberries as well as some protein powder - YUM, YUM. I called Allen before we left to see if he wanted to have lunch with us but he had something else to do. We did a few things around my apartment then went to Des Moines to the absolute best Fish and Chip place called Wally's Fish & Chips. Lisa and I both ordered Halibut and Chips but Lexxi ordered the grilled cheese sandwich.

After we finished lunch, Allen called to see where we were so he said he would meet us someplace but we had already headed towards the pier. The tide was one hour from being high and then Allen called to say he was at the restaurant so we went up there to meet him. We left there and went to Saltwater State Park in Des Moines and Allen followed Lisa (he'd never been in Des Moines before) and Lexxi played on the playground. When we left there, Allen followed us to my place and then Lisa and Allen loaded up a bunch of stuff I had saved for her to take home. Once they got the car loaded, they came back upstairs and then Lisa did a very thorough cleaning with my good vacuum. When she finished with that, both Lisa and Allen got in their cars and Lisa followed Allen up to Cheryl & John's where she got some more stuff to pack in her car.

I'm tired but I haven't laughed so much in I don't know when which made it all worth while. Having a 7 year old around when a senior isn't used to it, is a challenge but a fun challenge. It's hard to remember how much energy a 7 yr. old has and she has PLENTY. I went down to the rec room to get some ice and two or three people said "what have you been doing in your apartment?" and I said "it's not me but a 7 yr. old" which totally satisfied their question. Lexxi was doing cartwheels, dancing and just having fun. No one cared or complained but it's just odd to hear any noise from my apartment being I live right over the rec room. A VERY FUN weekend. For me to have two of my grand children and one great grandchild around is a thorough real treat for me. Both Lisa and Allen said they wish they could get together more often. Allen is off on Sundays and Mondays now at his new job so that's why he was able to have fun with us.
