New Job 06/21/06

I will be starting a new job on July the 5th and July the 3rd will be my last day at the wrecker service after almost 6 years of employment. I'm tired of being here and I don't want an office job for the rest of my life, so I'm going to go lay hard wood floors for a living. I'll start out making $11.00 an hour, which is pretty good I think. The best part is that I'll be working Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 4:00. No more weekends, no more working Christmas or any other holidays and no more 12-hour shifts either.
I'm putting myself in a bind and this next month will be hard. I will be losing a lot of money, and probably get behind on a few bills. I am taking about a $400.00-$600.00 pay cut a month to start, but I have also been advised of how raises are given, so I think about 3 months after starting I will be back on my feet again. I think it will be worth it in the long run. It will be good for Autumn and Janae with more time at home and good for me too.

Here are some pictures I took at Angelique's 3rd birthday party. She really had a bunch of fun and was so anxious to get into the presents. Mama was gone when we first got there and oh man was it hard to keep that little gal out of the presents. We had to keep telling her, not till mama gets back with your cake! It was a fun time. She got to be a princess and thought that was the best!!

Here are some pictures I took while I was in Joplin visiting my sister. The red quilt was made by the gals in Judie's Quilt Guild and it's huge. One picture is of Jim and Frank, one is Dianna and Jim's Mom, one is of Judie and I, one is Dianna and I, one is of Matt, there is a picture of Judie's house and some of the geese that walk right up the middle of the street every day and camp out in people's yards!!

Ok, so I had a green thumb moment on Saturday. I decided that I needed more life on my patio, so I went to Home Depot and picked up various plants and plant holders and some potting soil. It took me about an hour to figure out the layout and to pot the plants, water them and clean up. I think I did okay for something that I really don't do all that often. Check out the pictures!
