Bella

I now have a new "baby" in my house. She is a short hair female with kind of a tabby coloring. She is a young kitten probably between 3-6 months old and came as a stray to Sheila's (the gal who brought the cat to me). She is completely checking out the house and meowing a lot all the way. Of course, she is very curious but that is to be expected. She is scared to death of the floor furnace vents and stays completely away from them. Every time the furnace comes on, she jumps as if something is going to harm her. I think she is looking for her "mother", Sheila, but she has left. She has a very pretty face and I can tell she is young. She started purring now when I pet her, which is a good sign.

Trying to take a picture of a kitten before it moves its head is really hard but here are two of my new baby "Bella". I sat down in the living room chair to read at 12:30 so she decided she would take a nap in the other chair that I had already put a towel in for her to cuddle up in. She had been so busy since she got here at 10:00 that she had to be tired but the phone rang a little after 1 p.m. and she was up immediately - just like a baby. She kept meowing at me and as soon as I moved, she moved and then followed me. She sure is a cute cat and I'm sure I will get lots of enjoyment out of her. When I went to the living room earlier, I took her ball with me but as I'm sitting here, she came back in the bedroom with the ball in her mouth as she likes to play with it in the bathroom, probably because it rolls easier in there. I will say, she will probably give me no end of laughs. Sheila must have trained her good when it comes to the table and counters because she's never tried once to get up on either.
