Scottish Gathering 07/30/11
By John Schmit
Saturday we headed off to the old King County Fair Grounds to check out the Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering. We enjoyed the music and there was plenty of that to go around as the various groups practiced for competitions. The weather was clear and very warm. We'll go again next year!

Ocean Shores 07/26/11
By John Schmit
Had an awesome time at Ocean Shores, Washington this last Sunday. Went to the beach to enjoy the surf and get some video footage. There was a low fog that added so much to the pictures. It was fun to take the car off road and onto the beach. Made that all wheel drive work for a change. Nana got plenty of negative ions and we all had a wonderful meal at Red Lobster in Olympia on the way home. Nothing like some really fresh air to let you sleep good, and we did Sunday night!

Day Trip to Sequim (Skwim) 07/13/11
By Barbara Lawrence
What a fantastic day we had. Darlene & I took a taxi over to the other three buildings where the bus would start loading. I wanted to make sure I got the front seat so I could take pictures. I'm shocked at the quality of the pictures I took from the bus because it was hitting bumps, etc. so I thought they would be terrible but surprised they turned out so good. UPDATED 7/16/11

King County Metro Goats 07/13/11
By John Schmit
Got to work today to see that King County Metro had implemented its austerity program. They went green too! The goats were brought in to replace the expensive landscapers. As Pemco says, "we are a little different!"

Ralph and a Baby Robin 07/13/11
By Susie Devries
Here are a few more pictures of Ralph the Cat. He sure did want to 'play' with that baby Robin! It was just on the other side of the window. One of Ralphs favorite places to sit/sleep/gaze outside is under my Jade plant. Perfect view of the backyard!!

Autumn, Baby Birds and Corn Dogs 07/12/11
By Susie Devries
Autumn has been having quite a big time at Gramma Susie's house this week. Her Daddy has been teaching her to float in her swimming pool. Then we found some baby Blue Jays. We got kinda close and Mama and Daddy began squawking at us, so we left them alone. Last but not least, we made home made corn dogs. I'd never had them before and they are not too bad. I always thought I didn't like them!! Guess ya don't know till ya try something. Not going to be a regular meal, but a nice treat once in awhile. Autumn helps make the batter, threads the dogs on the stick and plunks them in the batter. Daddy did the frying.

Joplin Update 07/07/11
By Judie Riggen
We have our Kingsdale house nearly cleaned out of everything we own. It is all stashed in 2 PODS which are in the driveway, or in a storage unit or in our new 'vacation' home. Not much of it is in the vacation home. It is a tiny house. It's adequate and fairly comfortable, but whoever wired that house didn't believe in using electricity.
