Dance 12/31/10

Our building had a few people get together bringing food downstairs for New Year's Eve but a lot of people showed up, including me starting at 6 p.m. One of the guys put some CD's on for music and a number of the tenants were dancing with each other.

Matt's Birthday 12/31/10
By Cliff Chamberlin
Matt's big 5th birthday in Kearney NE this year. A fine time was had by all. We got up to +3 degrees today and looking forward to -25 tonight with the wind chill. Had 4" of snow, but it came sidewards. The weather did not stop us from having a great party.

Weather Fun 12/29/10
By John Schmit
A quick trip to the mall Monday, only to find no parking available. Ooops, won't go there after Christmas again. There was lightning as snow covered the bus route today in less than four minutes. No chains on the bus and hope for the best. Got off work on time and had no problem getting home.

By John Schmit
Cheryl, Barb and I went to see Michael W. Smith and the All-Star Symphony concert of "It's a Wonderful Christmas" at the ShoWare Center tonight. There was a 60 piece orchestra and a 30 person choir performing Christmas songs old and new. We had a great time watching the three hour show and even sang along on some of the carols.

By Cliff Chamberlin
Dec 19th is our 40th wedding anniversary, time flies!

The first picture is Candy's sisters - Ellen, Laura and Nancy, also Cliff's brother Ron and my cousin's hubby Norm and a long time friend of Candy's family, Steve Bross. The second picture is off our folks - Herb and Harriet Hansen then Gene and Dorothy Kralicek.

Don't we look the same 40 years later!

Christmas Dinner 12/15/10
By Barbara Lawrence
We had one of the biggest turnouts for dinner downstairs we've had since I've been here. No food is served in these buildings except for when we have potlucks and/or holiday meals. I went downstairs at 3:30 and came back up at 6:15 p.m.

Birthdays 12/14/10
By Barbara Lawrence
I went downstairs to the birthday "sing-a-long" and it was really fun. The man, Roger, who leads the singing and plays a guitar, has big binders with MANY songs along with a list so we know what song to choose. Most of the songs people wanted played were, of course, from the 40's, 50's & 60's.

Home Christmas Lights 12/14/10

Cheryl, Barb and I went out on a drive to see the neighborhood Christmas lights in the Seattle area. We visited five areas and saw fantastic displays, especially at Candy Cane Lane and Olympic Manor. Block after block of wonderful decorations. We ended the night at Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill, overlooking the Space Needle and downtown Seattle.

We had some really good rainfall the last three days. As a result, the rivers are up and we thought we'd check out some interesting views of the Snoqualmie River. It was reported to be flowing at 8 times its normal rate. Enjoy!

Christmas Lights Tour 12/06/10
By John Schmit
It was the perfect night (Sunday) for a ride. Cheryl and I had to go to downtown Seattle anyway, so why not take Mom and check out the Christmas lights there. Of course we didn't know about the Seahawks game getting over just as we arrived.
