Visitors From Sweden 06/30/11
By Cliff Chamberlin
In 1991 Candy and I hosted a young man, Martin, from Sweden for 11 months. He was a world class skier, who lost the last cut to represent Sweden in the 92 Winter Olympics in two down hill events. So he came to us and we had a great year.

Ralph The Cat 06/25/11
By Susie Devries
My 20 pound cat, Ralph, resident Lard *** was caught off guard this morning. I'd gone out to get the Saturday paper. He decided to wait for me in his usual spot. My sewing machine was there, so he plopped on top of my Roomba! All of a sudden it 'sings it little song' because he sat on the GO button, and he's looking around. He then got up, and it began to move!!! That cat was gone in a flash!!! OMG, I laughed so hard!!! I don't think he will be sitting on Roomba anymore!!!! ROFLOL!!!!

Joplin Udate 06/22/11
By Judie Riggen
We are still with my quilting friend, but slowly moving toward getting into a place of our own. I never expected that it would take this long before we'd be able to get someplace. I guess I didn't realize when we left that night that we wouldn't be coming home again for a long long time.

Father's Day Weekend 06/21/11
By Tricia Miller
For Father's Day I got Wes a new gas grill, which he absolutely loves! We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday because I didn't have to work that day and we had the whole day to ourselves. We went to the local hispanic market and bought carne asada and marinated chicken and made a day of grilling and relaxing. We had an awesome time!

Update - Judie and Family 06/08/11
By Susie Devries
I talked with my sister today. The recovery process in Joplin is painfully slow. The city's devastated to say the least. Jim and Judie had good insurance on their household items and got only about a 1/3 of that. The house has been gutted, it's still standing. No roof, but standing.
