Sandy 05/30/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I started to go out my front door and saw Sandy laying on her back out in the yard with her legs up in the air as if she was "sunbathing". I took the picture from inside my front door is why it is so far away but I knew the minute she heard my door, she would get up.

Have Power Now 05/29/08
By Cliff Chamberlin
Just as I was getting home from Craig and Tammy's with my emergency water bottles full, the power came back on. About 4 1/2 hrs without. I went over to my pond and it is running out the overflow pipe. So my pond is offically full. The overflow pipe is a 15" galv culvert. My gauge said 2.35" of rain in 45 mins. at the time of the tornado. Two or more ?? tornadoes in Kearney, mostly effecting the East side. Will go to work tomorrow morn and see what they need help with. That's all tonight.

Wild Roses 05/25/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I stopped in three different places today on the way home from church to take pictures of wild roses. We have lots of them in our yard but in order to get pictures of them en masse, I have to get in the weeds to take them. This is the best picture I took today but these roses line the fences all along our country road and are in full bloom now.

Autumn and Her Dragonfly 05/25/08
By Susie Devries
Here are some pictures we took of Autumn and a dragonfly yesterday. It had gotten stuck in the grill of the truck but we managed to get it out. It was injured and dying so Autumn got the rare chance to see it up close and personal. She gave it 'kisses' to make it feel better.

Yard Color 05/25/08
By Cheryl Schmit
The Rhodies in back are in full bloom. There are lots of bees there. The Catalpa tree is running late due to the cool weather. The ferns have lots of new frawns and the Hostas are filling out nicely. Our new Rhodies in front are just thinking about blooming.

Here are new pictures of Lexi! She started a new daycare this last week and it is taking some getting used to, on top of that she is getting in her eye teeth right now and has been a little cranky! She loves going to play at the daycare though, she doesn't even say goodbye to me.

Priefert Commercials 05/22/08
By Daryl Lawrence
These first 5 commercials are the ones that will be airing on RFD TV along with all our dealers country wide on their in store TV kiosks. They will also air on the PBR finals in Las Vegas at the end of the year, and will be posted on You Tube and My Space under Priefert, is what they say. This is the marketing roll-out of our 2008 campaign of Financing for our equipment we sell around the world. They teamed up with "Sheffield financial" company, who will finance up to $40,000 at a time of our products. As they start this, it will be 6 months same as cash. I didn't realize when they asked me to go along with doing these commercials, that I was going to be the "star" of them!? They sure turned out funny and also do the job of what they are looking to accomplish. Jeff was also talking about submitting them to America's funniest videos and such... yeah right. They may also be on Xtreme sports next month on ABC, we will see if that comes about though, I'll let you know when they film it next month. I wear the red tie and announce! Enjoy, Daryl

Sunday Drive 05/19/08
By John Schmit
Cheryl and I took a nice Sunday drive yesterday. Our plan was to drive to Yakima, Washington and check out the "Gateway To Washington Wine Country". The weather was perfect for the ride, sunny and warm. We were however, disappointed with the run down appearance of Yakima. We chose to drive 'the back way', Highway 12, back through the Cascade Mountains.

Pot Garden 05/18/08
By John & Cheryl Schmit
We thought you'd like to see a few pictures of our pot garden. We are trying something different this year and have our veggies in a group of large pots. We have a variety of tomato plants, strawberries and bell pepper plants started. Soon (now that the weather has warmed), we will add onions and radishes.

Yard Work 05/12/08
By Barbara Lawrence
Daryl took out most of the bushes yesterday on the east side of the cottage. He used the tractor with the shredder to take out all the shrubbery. The second picture was after the bushes were gone. I'm including a picture of Lisa with Lexi on the tractor before Lisa started shredding in the pasture. The other picture was Lexi watching Sandy as she was also trying to figure out how to get off the sidewalk to sit in "her" rocker (Jan's doll rocker). Lexi was approaching 10-1/2 months old in these two pictures.

Garden 05/08/08
By Susie Devries
Here are some pictures of my 'garden'. The bushy tomato is now wrapped in green mesh, that I 'stole' from Lowe's. It's actually the mesh that encased the Boston Ferns. They were going to throw it away any how, so I asked the gal if I could 'steal' some and she said sure. It serves as a support for the plant and also a deterrent from 'critters'.

Snake 05/06/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I was leaving here yesterday about noon and as I was pulling out of the carport, I could see a long snake coming out of the stream. I could see that it's trajectory would be across our road so I waited until it got in the road, I run over it with my car and then left to go to town.

Patio 05/03/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I bought new cushions and umbrella to match yesterday for my patio chair set - not the colors I wanted but took what I could get.  Daryl put in more pink pavers this morning so now the patio is finished.  It is too windy today so no way to put the umbrella up but we did try it.  It is an 8' umbrella and fits just right over both the chairs but I can't reach the tilting buttons so guess I won't be using that option, at least when I'm by myself.  It sure is a pain being so "short" - I can't reach anything I want to.  I bought some spray paint to use on an old pot I had but it's too windy to do that.  I will go find a plant to put in it once I get the pot painted.

Pick 05/03/08
By John Schmit
Yesterday I picked my Summer work. I'll be changing days off to Friday & Saturday at the end of May when the new schedule starts. I'll still be working nights but was able to pick up some overtime to add to the paycheck. Looks like a good Summer after all.
