Christmas Bus 12/16/14
By John Schmit
The Christmas Bus is on the streets of Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland, Washington once again. Back by popular demand from the passengers, the bus brings a little joy to many who ride. It is decorated from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas. Many passengers take pictures and pose in the front of the bus. A new addition this year is Sidney, a Christmas Kangaroo. On one special day we'll hand out candy canes to all the passengers. Enjoy these pictures of the bus and even a group of fans as they took pictures.

Michael's 2nd Birthday 12/12/14
By Hiedi Cardona
On Friday 12/12/14, we took Michael to Monkey Joe’s which is an establishment that has indoor bouncing playground. We figured it was a safer place for Michael than Chucky Cheese. His party was at 1p and his friend Scarlett who is 2 1/2 joined Grandpa and Grandma Cardona, Mommy and Daddy. Michael was like the energizer bunny that wouldn’t stop, even on breaks to rehydrate he wanted to keep going. We had so much fun with all the cake cutting, presents and playing. The cake was very good, it was a Spiderman cake because the party was a Superhero themed party. The filling was fresh bananas and strawberries. Yummy! Thank you again Grandma and Grandpa Cardona for coming and celebrating Michael’s special day! Enjoy the pictures!

Michael's 2014 Christmas Pictures 12/11/14
By Hiedi Cardona
We took Michael to see Santa Claus last week 12/11/14, He wasn’t very happy with the man in the red suit. It took several attempts to get him to stop crying and to show a resemblance of a smile. I didn’t get a chance to get pictures of him sitting on Santa’s lap due to getting his attention and making him smile. We did take pictures before going to see Santa, so you can see what his Christmas outfit was. He is so handsome in his outfit. Enjoy the pictures!

By Barbara Lawrence
We had a trip today in our van. There had to be ten people who to go on the tour and with our driver, that's how many we had. Kay and I were the only two from our building that went. We were off to the Boehm Chocolate Factory in "Issaquah Alps", an area 25 miles north of here and not far from Snoqualmie Casino.

Seed's Dairy Farm Corn Maze and Fun 10/11/14
By Hiedi Cardona
Over the Columbus Day four day weekend we decided to go visit Seed’s Dairy Farm. They had all kinds of things going on for the Fall. They had a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, how to milk a cow demonstration, and the corn maze. In addition to all the activities they had a kid play area for the young kids to play on. Michael loved that part! We spent about 2 hours there and a lot of time was spend navigating the maze. We thought we were lost for a while and we ended up playing Marco Polo throughout the maze with other people to help get us out of the there. Whew!! But they had signs posted throughout the maze with questions and a phone number for those that did get lost. All in all we had a great day! We ended it with some great tasting milkshakes! Yummy!

Quilts10/01/14
By Susie Devries
Here are the pictures of the two quilts I've worked on and have sent to the quilter. I have the purple one back and am putting the binding on it now, then it will be done! It was a big quilt. The green one will be done soon and binding put on. Then I can begin another quilt. Can't get too many irons in the fire at one time, I don't get anything accomplished that way.

Italian Festival 9/28/14
By John Schmit
We were invited to attend this year's Italian Heritage Festival at the Seattle Center by a fellow bus driver, Chai Ahrenius. As the brochure said "Fortissimo!... Known for many years as "Seattle's Three Tenors," these singers have been show-stoppers at Festa for over 16 years now... Gino Lucchetti, Chai Ahrenius and Steve Wall are all brilliant operatic talents in their own right...together they are awesome! Always a standing ovation." And they had one this year. We sure had a good time.

Congratulations to the Seahawks on the great start to a new season. They were not the only winners, Blanche Glaeser, who recently moved to the Seattle suburb of Kent, struck a home run this week. Not just one, but six in a single game of Bean Bag Baseball. Her name is now on the lips of many where she lives. Great job! Go Hawks! Go Blanche!

Zoo Day 8/31/14
By Hiedi Cardona
It was Zoo Day today! Artie and I took Michael to the Riverpark Zoo in Columbia, SC. We arrived shortly after 10 to hopefully see them feed the Gorillas. We got sidetracked by other animals on the way to the Gorillas so we missed the feeding. Oh well! We still saw some gorillas. We stopped by the Giraffes and Michael got up close and personal with one of them. I think they are best friends now. We saw all kinds of animals there, Michael would fit right in! Just kidding.... We left around one in the afternoon because it was getting to hot! Here are some photos from our adventures!

It started with shoes and went wild after that. We had a lot of fun checking out the stores at North Bend. We even bought a few things, crossing off items on our lists. There was even some impulse buying. The best way to end your day is stopping at the Chocolate Factory. Check out these pictures from a fun afternoon with Barb, Blanche, Cheryl and I.

Snoqualmie Casino6/23/14
By Barbara Lawrence
My friend Darlene and I got on the Snoqualmie Casino bus this morning at 8:30 and had a good time today. We pay the driver $10 to ride the bus and when we get to the casino, we go to the cashier and we get that $10 back plus we get a $10 food voucher. We go to the buffet where it costs $10.95 for seniors so all we had to pay was $.95 and the buffet at this casino is superb......

We went to Clarks Hill Lake in South Carolina. It was his first time going into the water outside of being in a bath. He had a great time! He kept trying to push off but soon realized he can't swim! We are going to see if the post gives swimming lessons for his age. All in all we had a great day! :)

I had the "funnest" day today that I've had in a long time. Cheryl and John picked me up at 10:30 and we drove to the Tukwila Light Rail station (a train a little like the train I took to work from Oxnard to Glendale) and picked up the train that took us right to the end of the line in downtown Seattle.

The area at the ski lifts was gorgeous. The mountains were snow tipped and sparkling in the sunshine. Take a look and enjoy the pictures.

Cle Elum Lake Drive 4/13/14
By John & Cheryl Schmit with help from Barbara Lawrence
It was a lovely day. The clouds were gone and the Sun was warming things up. Time to go for a ride. We headed east to the Cascade Mountains. Passing through the Snoqualmie Pass, Barb pointed out that they will be removing the snow shed in the next couple of weeks. They are in the process of widening the freeway. Cheryl had been wanting to see Cle Elum Lake so that was a good destination. It was fun to see the snow still in patches near the road. At one of the beaches we saw a dune buggy that got stuck in a ravine. Fun for them. We took a lot of pictures and even have a few to share. Hope you enjoy.

Sunday Drive to Mt. Vernon, Daffodils & Snow Geese 3/23/14
By John & Cheryl Schmit
We needed to have a little 'slow down' time so went for a ride on a nice day. They didn't plant many fields of tulips this year, but we did find a few of daffodils. Off in the distance we saw a huge flock of snow geese. We were lucky to have the camera ready when a great many birds decided to take to the air. We combined some video and still images for you to see. Enjoy!

This is my fifth year attending the Seattle Saint Patrick's Day parade. This one was organized differently than last year and it was a bit more spread out. That made for a longer parade, but the weather was good and the people interesting. Enjoy the video!
