It's time to go back to work but having been off this last week couldn't have been better. The Vegas trip was great and getting out before the snow there was icing on the cake. Not having to drive during and right after the snow storm here was also a blessing. I was able to stay home and get projects worked on.

Moon 12/12/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I took these pictures about 1/2 hour apart to see the full moon as it was coming up. The one had a little bit of clouds over the top of it. I'm also sending a picture of our cute little "girl" - she had to be right by me to see what I was doing, so I took her picture. The reason I took these pictures this month is because the moon is the closest to the earth this month than it will be all year.

Autumn and Christmas 12/08/08
By Susie Devries
Autumn wanted to 'help' when raking the leaves. Also we put up our tree, it's a Leyland Cypress that we went and cut Dec 6. We have a new Christmas decoration for the house too, a miniature nativity scene. Have to have it up high though because the pieces are small and I know little fingers would think they are perfect to play with.

Hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Here are a few new pictures of Alexxis. She was a Tulip Fairy on Halloween. Her Aunt and I took her trick or treatin' to four houses. She had a blast! She now can say candy, along with lots of other things. She says, hi, bye, hey, teeth, two, bug, choo choo, NO (all the time) shoe, nose, belly, ear, eye, I could go on all night. You get the gist though right? She is getting so big. Getting into EVERYTHING of coarse. I just can't wait til she puts all the words together.

Madison is 1 year older than Autumn and lives next door to us. They are great pals. After the little girls were done with Trick or Treat, Tracy, Madison's Mom, and I sat out on the front porch and the little girls handed out candy. They loved it!

Autumn 10/08/08
By Susie Devries
Autumn was so funny yesterday. She has become fascinated with flies. They are coming in as usual, they do every year. Some are in a semi dead state and easily caught. Autumn loves this. She catches one, it crawls on her arm. She says Look Gramma, it's walking on me, can I pet it? I said sure but be gentle. She said "OK, I will be gentle----OOPS, one of it's legs fell off, I will stuck it back on!" I laughed till my sides hurt.

Honey Bees 09/21/08
By Susie Devries
I guess I have a lot to learn about Honey Bees. I filled the hummingbird feeders today, tonight one is completely empty! I am absolutely amazed at this. Never before have I had honey bees at my hummingbird feeders like this. They would come, but never drain the feeder so quick or even at all!

Bees 09/21/08
By Susie Devries
I filled my hummingbird feeders Friday, then took pictures of the bees. Today I looked out and was amazed to see the feeders were empty. So today I made extra. I've filled the two feeders and no sooner did I get them up and the bees were all over them! Pretty amazing.

Honey Bees 09/19/08
By Susie Devries
I think the honey bees like my hummingbird feeders more than my hummingbirds do. I put out fresh nectar today, had to shake the bees off the feeders. When I went back out, they were waiting for me and were quite happy with a fresh feed.

In that time period, gas prices had increased .50 cents a gallon!!

The plant is growing but not much and now it's got a bud. The flower, when it opens will be bigger than the plant itself.

Another busy weekend as Cheryl and I got our regular shopping chores done, then went looking for garden plants. We visited a very nice nursery where we found a beautiful coral rose. We then went to an out of the way rhodie garden that had the exact plant we were looking for. Called "Horizon Garnet", the rhodie has deep red flowers and will be a great addition to our front garden.

Wild Roses 05/25/08

I stopped in three different places today on the way home from church to take pictures of wild roses. We have lots of them in our yard but in order to get pictures of them en masse, I have to get in the weeds to take them. This is the best picture I took today but these roses line the fences all along our country road and are in full bloom now.

Priefert Commercials 05/22/08
By Daryl Lawrence
These first 5 commercials are the ones that will be airing on RFD TV along with all our dealers country wide on their in store TV kiosks. They will also air on the PBR finals in Las Vegas at the end of the year, and will be posted on You Tube and My Space under Priefert, is what they say. This is the marketing roll-out of our 2008 campaign of Financing for our equipment we sell around the world. They teamed up with "Sheffield financial" company, who will finance up to $40,000 at a time of our products. As they start this, it will be 6 months same as cash. I didn't realize when they asked me to go along with doing these commercials, that I was going to be the "star" of them!? They sure turned out funny and also do the job of what they are looking to accomplish. Jeff was also talking about submitting them to America's funniest videos and such... yeah right. They may also be on Xtreme sports next month on ABC, we will see if that comes about though, I'll let you know when they film it next month. I wear the red tie and announce! Enjoy, Daryl

Cheryl and I took a nice Sunday drive yesterday. Our plan was to drive to Yakima, Washington and check out the "Gateway To Washington Wine Country". The weather was perfect for the ride, sunny and warm. We were however, disappointed with the run down appearance of Yakima. We chose to drive 'the back way', Highway 12, back through the Cascade Mountains.

Yard Work 05/12/08
By Barbara Lawrence
Daryl took out most of the bushes yesterday on the east side of the cottage. He used the tractor with the shredder to take out all the shrubbery. The second picture was after the bushes were gone. I'm including a picture of Lisa with Lexi on the tractor before Lisa started shredding in the pasture. The other picture was Lexi watching Sandy as she was also trying to figure out how to get off the sidewalk to sit in "her" rocker (Jan's doll rocker). Lexi was approaching 10-1/2 months old in these two pictures.

Garden 05/08/08
By Susie Devries
Here are some pictures of my 'garden'. The bushy tomato is now wrapped in green mesh, that I 'stole' from Lowe's. It's actually the mesh that encased the Boston Ferns. They were going to throw it away any how, so I asked the gal if I could 'steal' some and she said sure. It serves as a support for the plant and also a deterrent from 'critters'.

Snake 05/06/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I was leaving here yesterday about noon and as I was pulling out of the carport, I could see a long snake coming out of the stream. I could see that it's trajectory would be across our road so I waited until it got in the road, I run over it with my car and then left to go to town.

Patio 05/03/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I bought new cushions and umbrella to match yesterday for my patio chair set - not the colors I wanted but took what I could get.  Daryl put in more pink pavers this morning so now the patio is finished.  It is too windy today so no way to put the umbrella up but we did try it.  It is an 8' umbrella and fits just right over both the chairs but I can't reach the tilting buttons so guess I won't be using that option, at least when I'm by myself.  It sure is a pain being so "short" - I can't reach anything I want to.  I bought some spray paint to use on an old pot I had but it's too windy to do that.  I will go find a plant to put in it once I get the pot painted.

Yesterday Daryl and I thought he would put a border around the new patio of the 12" squares (left over from before) but after getting the chair set put together, he is going to go get 5 more of the pink blocks.  This set is bigger than it looked at the store and takes up more room than we had thought.

Ian, Braden, Ally 04/23/08
By Erin Lawrence
We preregistered Ian today at French Hospital. They took blood. He sat so still on Chris' lap through the whole thing. When she put in the needle he had a whining whimper that lasted until she took it out. That was it! When they put the cotton ball and the non sticky tape around his arm is when he freaked out and started crying. He had to pee in a cup also.

Friday's Shopping 04/18/08

I needed to look for some shoes, so we decided today was shopping day. We knew when we left this morning there was a chance of snow, so we decided to go to North Bend first. On the way we stopped at Snoqualmie Falls for pictures. I found two pair of sandles at North Bend before leaving for the Auburn Super Mall. Lunch at Johnny Rocket's and a quick trip through the mall left us wanting more. We ended up at the South Center Mall where I found the perfect pair of shoes at Macy's! We left there for a delicious dinner at Azteca Mexican restaurant.

Thursday's Concert 04/17/08
By Barbara Lawrence
The evening started off great! John dropped Cheryl and I off at the Paramount Theater in downtown Seattle. (Built in 1928.) The music was loud but fantastic for the sold out audience. It was an opening night for the Celtic Women. The four women singers and female violinist performed for two and 1/2 hours. Our seats were dead center, about 100 stairs up, three flights. What a view!

It was a colorful day on Wednesday as we went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Field after field of brilliant colors of daffodills and tulips. We wandered back and forth among the fields of flowers in this area about 60 miles north of Seattle. After some heavy picture taking, we stopped and had some refreshing ice cream. On the way home we visited one of our favorite resturants for dinner. A very colorful day indeed!

Monday Sightseeing 04/14/08

Monday was our first chance to get out and see the area. Nana asked to revisit the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. Rain showers in the area and flowers not in bloom yet kept that short. Allen joined us for dinner and he Bar-B-Q'd hamburgers for us all.

Ok, here are new pics of Alexxis-Rae and the boys! She is walking pretty good unless she gets excited or just doesn't want to. Boy, does she have more attitude and temper these days also! Frani and I painted her fingers the other day for the first time. I have been waiting for her to be old enough since before she was born! That day finally came. They are so pretty. She sat there pretty good too.
We all had a great time this past weekend with the family in Laughlin and Vegas. We did the pool, arcade, dinner, and baby shower stuff. It is always hard to say good bye though. But have to say I am glad to be home!
Hope everyone is doing well... Love, Lisa

Lexi's Swing 03/22/08
By Barbara Lawrence
I bought Lexi a new swing last week for the tree outside so today was the first time she was in it. It will be so much better when the tree gets leafed out which it's in the process of doing now. Daryl came out long enough to hook it to the limb, pushed Lexi and then she drug in her breath and laughed out loud - she loved the swing and laughed each time we pushed her. She was also in her walker outside but didn't like her feet in the grass - her expressions were sooooooo cute. Lexi was 9 months old this past Thursday. Lexi came home from CA with her one bottom tooth all the way through and it's so tiny and cute.

Airplanes 03/03/08
By Susie Devries
This weekend we were able to be up close and personal with some vintage air craft. On display at the North Little Rock Airport were a B-17, B-24 and a B-25. You could ride in one of them for 425.00 a person. That was a bit too expensive for our budget so we just walked around them and looked. Bill took pictures. It was a small show, but so very close we couldn't help but go, the airport is about 2 miles away.

Out Of The Mouth's Of Babes 02/24/08
By Susie Devries
Friday night I kept my grand daughter Autumn over night. She had been invited to a birthday party on Saturday and I was taking her. Mom has the flu, dad has an infected wisdom tooth.
So as the evening progresses, Autumn does like every other toddler and goes faster and faster as she gets more tired. She had been laying on the couch beside me but got up and I told her she needed to sit and be very still for a while. She sat down, looked at me and said 'but I'm just a child!' I was so surprised and found that to be so cute. She did give up and go to sleep in the crib and slept all night but oh man was she funny the night before.

Presidential Library 02/18/08
By Susie Devries
Today was President's Day and Bill had the day off. Here in Little Rock is the Clinton Library. Today only was free admission. Highlight of going was a replica of the White House! It was fantastic to say the least. We waited in line with many other people for about a half hour to get to see this thing up close and personal.

We had the fireplace going tonight and Ralph the Cat discovered it was nice and warm on the hearth rug. He's quite comfy, don't you think?

By Roger Schmit
Here are a couple of pictures that I received from Matt. This is the reason that Barb and I are down here. The pictures were taken following another big snowstorm that closed the schools. That snow measured 20 inches.

Tree Planting 02/02/08
By John Schmit
We had three trees delivered and planted yesterday to replace those that died this last year. One that lived we moved to our south side yard. All the trees are Cleveland Select Flowering Pear. Being a narrow, upright tree they are good along the street and in narrow places.

Update 02/01/08
By Lisa Lawrence
Lexi and I are doing good... I started working this past week at Home Depot as a cashier. I really like it! Great benefits even at part time.
Lexi is teething, she has a runny nose and bad diaper rash again. She started daycare this week also and seems to really enjoy it. She doesn't even think twice when I drop her off. Lexi ate scrambled eggs this morning with her banana. She also walked all around the coffee table today.

Snow At Train Station 01/28/08
By Cheryl Schmit
We had a light dusting of snow this morning. It was just enough to make driving a bit difficult where the roads were not prepared. This is blurry, but you get the idea.

Lexi 01/21/08
By Barbara Lawrence
Thought you might enjoy the latest pictures of Lexi. The one of her in the high chair is her playing with an ice cube. One night when she wanted out of the high chair, I gave her an ice cube and she is so cute playing with it. Once it starts melting and she gets it to her mouth, we take it away from her so she won't choke on it. This is the sweetest happy baby, is good and is so cute. When she sees Lisa with the camera, she usually smiles as I guess she likes the camera. Friday she pulled herself up to the coffee table (which she has done for awhile) and walked three steps around it trying to get to the other side. She was 7 months old yesterday.

As you know we are adopting. We were matched December 20th with a birth mother who is having a baby girl. She is due February 1st. We are so excited! We have been shopping for her and trying to get ready. We will have to go to Virginia for two weeks when she is born. Then we can bring her home. Her name is going to be Madelyn Ryne. We can't wait!

Green Valley Library 01/17/08
By Roger Schmit
Now that we're in Green Valley, our access to the Internet is limited. I take the daily picture with my digital camera and transfer it through my laptop to a thumb drive. We then walk over to the local library (it's about a 10 minute walk) where I get an hour of computer time. This is enough to transfer the picture and check both the website and our email and maybe have a little time left over to harass Heidi about the Seahawks. More about Green Valley to come. Lexi 01/12/08
By Lisa Lawrence
The first picture is of Lexi "pitching a fit" when Lisa emphatically told her "NO" when she was trying to clean out the bookcase in the hall. There's also a picture of Lexi helping Jan clean out the dishwasher this morning. We were looking at pictures that were taken of Lexi before she left CA (on 12/23/07) and noticed how much she has changed since then. She will be 7 months old on the 20th of this month. Pickles and Pansies 01/07/08
By Susie Devries
It may not be spring in Arkansas but it sure feels like it today! Highs in the 70's for the next couple days. I have taken down the outdoor Christmas lights and planted some new Pansy plants in my tri-tier flower pot. There are some left over Petunias in there too. Click here for the rest of the story and pictures.

Update 01/05/08
By Roger Schmit
All is going well in Green Valley. The temps have been mid 50's to low 70's. Sure is a lot better than I'm used to. We haven't been golfing yet but hope to get out next week. We're going up to Tucson today to get some tickets for a couple of spring training baseball games. And of course I have to watch the Seahawks game, just for Heidi.
